It looks like Freddy Mercury’s “Time” survived the great Universal Music fire of 2008! According to a story from MSN, Universal Music has put out a previously unreleased music video from Freddy Mercury’s 1986 single “Time”. Now, under it’s full original name “Time Waits For No One”, the song has it’s 96 backing tracks stripped away to feature only the amazing voice of Freddy and a piano. The results are pretty damn good. Check it out for yourself!
If you don’t remember, Universal Music has recently been under fire (pun intended) for not disclosing the severity of a fire on the back lot of their storage in 2008. The NY Times broke the story a couple weeks ago that over 100,000 master recordings had caught fire and were complete losses. Luckily, Freddy Mercury’s “Time” was untouched and we can get this gem.
