“Live A Purpose Driven Life” – Meghan Markle Shares How She Handles The Haters

By News Sep 30, 2020 | 7:48 AM

Meghan Markle is in the middle of a legal battle with British tabloids, so she’s no stranger to dealing with negativity. In a candid conversation at “Fortune” magazine’s Most Powerful Women virtual summit yesterday, Meghan offered some advice to those who want to use their platforms to talk about important issues – regardless of the backlash.

During their one-on-one chat, “Fortune’s” senior editor Ellen McGirt pointed out that Meghan has taken shots from everyone from President Donald Trump to “powerful people and powerful forces” trying to “disparate [her] message.”

Meghan’s reply? She focuses on living a “purpose-driven life” rather than listening to all the “noise,” recalling a quote by George O’Keefe she had up in her room “many, many moons ago.” “There are always going to be naysayers,” she said. “I used to have a quote up in my room, ‘I have already settled it for myself so flattery and criticism go down the same drain and I am quite free.’”

ONE MORE THING! We previously reported that Meghan and Prince Harry’s lawyers in their legal battle against the British press tried to block the use of the “Finding Freedom” biography. But the judge has now given the publisher the green light to use the biography in its defense… even though Meghan’s lawyers insisted she didn’t “collaborate” on it at all.
