NRG Media Omaha operates seven radio stations: KMMQ-AM/FM, KOIL-AM, KOOO-FM, KOPW-FM, KOZN-AM, and KZOT-AM.
KMMQ AM/FM – La Nueva Omaha is a Radio Station with “Regional Mexican” format, a mixture of different musical styles from different areas of the Mexican Republic, this format is the most listened to by all the United States. La Nueva Omaha offers its audience a mix of programs with the most experienced Local Radio personalities in Omaha and the most nationally recognized personalities.
KOIL-AM – News Talk 1290 KOIL reaches an active, highly-informed listener. Typically, these listeners, both male and female, range in age from 45-64. They are homeowners, often own or manage businesses, and are highly engaged with the issues of the day. Because they are talk radio listeners, their listening is very foreground, and not background listening you might encounter on an all-music station.
KOOO-FM – 101.9 The Keg plays rock hits primarily from the 80s and 90s. We target both a male and female listener, typically between the ages of 35 and 54. They are moms and dads, own a home, have 2-3 cars in the household, and their kids are typically teenagers or college age.
KOPW-FM – Power 106.9 is Omaha’s exclusive rhythmic CHR station. The Power listener is typically between the ages of 18 and 49, with a core of 18-34.
KOZN-AM – 1620 The Zone reaches Omaha’s active male audience. Listeners typically range in age from 25-54. The Zone audience is highly educated, with disposable income.
KQKQ-FM – Sweet 98.5 FM is Omaha’s heritage hot adult contemporary station, reaching adults 25-54, with a core of females between the ages of 25 and 44. These listeners are part of a two income family, whose kids are typically between the ages of 5 and 13.
KZOT-AM – 1180 The Zone 2 reaches Omaha’s active male audience. Listeners typically range in age from 25-54.

FM Program Director – Hot AC & Rhythmic CHR
Sweet 98.5 (KQKQ), Power 106.9 (KOPW) and 101.9 The Keg (KOOO) are key brands in NRG Media’s seven-station cluster in Omaha, Nebraska. We are searching for a Program Director that has the ability, knowledge and drive to be the best in all formats.
We are looking for someone who is competitive, innovative with fresh ideas to make a difference, and not content continuing to do things because that is the way they have been done.
You must be a Program Director who understands and relates to the brands and demos of Hot AC Sweet 98.5, Rhythmic CHR Power 106.9 and Adult Hits 101.9 The Keg. The attraction of the brand depends on the stations’ involvement within the community, the involvement of talent with the local community and how we promote our brands to the listeners, clients and the marketplace.
You must be willing to get involved in the local community to understand the listeners; how they live, work and play; and what interests them. Program Directors are expected to do an on-air shift, to talk to our listeners daily to get insight on what they want and how they believe we should be involved in the community. As one of the public faces of the stations, you will also represent them at frequent live remotes, client meetings and major station events.
We need someone who just does not sit behind a desk, but is heavily involved in all aspects of the radio stations and our brands. NRG Media needs someone who has a deep passion for music as well as an ear for finding the next hit, keeping the stations tight and true to the formats. In addition, we are fully committed to our websites as well as all forms of social media. We need a Program Director who understands these are extensions of our on-air product, and they must work hand in hand. Social media and other digital smarts is a huge plus.
A must for the position is a Program Director who truly understands that great local radio is accomplished by working in conjunction with the sales department; and truly understands the promotions department at the radio station is the glue that holds programming and sales together. We need someone who really enjoys working with sellers and promotions to come up with ideas to help generate revenue for the stations, to brainstorm promotions, packages, sponsorships, endorsements and events that promote the station and add revenue. Someone who can bring a spirit of creativity and mutual respect to a team where these values matter.
Above all, we want someone who understands, lives, eats, breaths radio and the formats, and understands that great local radio only happens through hard work, smart decision making and teamwork of all the departments within the cluster.
